Gloucester Docks

Had a lovely day today. Mum and Merrick came over from Northants and we went for lunch at the Brewhouse on Gloucester Docks. They make their own beers, and even have ones named after Gloucestershire celebs such as Eddie the Eagle Edwards and Simon Pegg.

It's got a lovely view of the river, and very good desserts, though they served the least messy Eton Mess I've ever seen. Designer mess.

We popped into the old chapel on the docks and I couldn't resist taking a peek at their piano, which is a bit out of tune and looks like it's seen better days.

Missing a few teeth.

Then we had a bit of a wander round the harbour and the dry docks. Gloucester docks is one of the few places left that repairs tall ships and every year they hold a tall ship festival.

Just time for a last cup of tea in the garden before mum and Merrick headed home. We saw this beautiful Scarlet Tiger moth on one of the plants.
